What commonly goes wrong on this engine
- ·Injector seal leaks ('black death') on the 2.2 TDCi carbon up the injector wells, degrade combustion and push soot output well above what the DPF can regenerate away.
- ·High-mileage multidrop use fills these DPFs with non-combustible ash — regeneration can't remove ash, so warning lights return ever more frequently until the unit is bench-cleaned.
