High DPF Differential Pressure

Diagnostics show the pressure drop across the filter is high — the direct measurement of restriction. It's the most honest DPF number there is, provided the sensor and hoses are telling the truth.

What commonly causes it

  • ·Genuine soot/ash restriction
  • ·Sensor or hose faults reading falsely high
  • ·Melted/collapsed substrate after overheating or a botched forced regen

Test this before blaming the DPF

  • ·Verify the sensor: static zero reading, hose condition, connector
  • ·Compare idle and loaded readings — a blocked filter shows a characteristic rise under load
  • ·Rule out recent forced-regen damage if readings jumped suddenly
